Universcale – Measuring it all

Nikon has this nifty little Flash site called Universcale, where it compares the size of all things (from an atom nucleus to the universe), relative to one another.
But even with this tool, one can not really comprehend the tinyness or hugeness of things…

Make a Pledge and Put Your Name on Honda’s F1 Car

Honda is making one huge statement in this year’s F1 season. Their 2007 Honda Racing F1 RA107 car will feature no sponsors whatsoever, but instead one big image of Earth, composed of pixellated names of persons that made a pledge on myearthdream.com.

The aim is to use Formula One’s huge global reach to highlight a huge global problem.

Nice. 🙂

A World without Humans

I carry with me a great respect and awe for nature. It’s just simply amazing how nature is able to always land back on its feet. And to always find a perfect balance between the myriad of species (fauna and flora). I don’t believe in a God or something like that, but if I must believe in something, than Mother Nature would be a fine candidate.

The articles below sketch a planet Earth without the human lifeform. We are the most dominating species, or certainly the most influencial. In a bad way, that is. So what is written depicts a world how it should have been. In perfection, thanks to the workings of natural ecosystems.

Mind you, I’m not against the human race, I just hate how we can’t live with our world in harmony. Native -un-industrialized- people have proven that we, as humans, can in fact live together with nature just fine. The problem is that there are simply too many of us, and that we are too curious, and too greedy. Sadly enough.

Rechargable USB Batteries

A British company, Moixa Energy, has developed a new product under the name Usbcell. It’s a 1300 mAh NiMH AA battery that can be recharged through a computer’s USB port.
For the moment, the Usbcell is only available in the UK and costs about €20 for two batteries.
